Amsterdam to Basel

Cons: Tours were interesting but felt rushed. I would have preferred more free time in the cities.

The AmaMora is a deluxe cruise ship. The staff is friendly and efficient. What was very impressive were the quality and variety of the meals.

Best Holiday Ever

Amawaterways made a ship swap as seamless as possible. Did not feel we missed any sight seeing opportunities or excursions. The holiday "extras" were wonderful!

Absolutely AMAzing!

Pros: Impressive itinerary, ship is gorgeous (looks brand new), staff is awesome, food is 5 star. There was nothing mediocre about this ship, the itinerary, the package as a whole -- it all was spectacular!

Cons: The cruise eventually does come to an end. :-)

It is what it is, but it felt like we were speed dating each country as you're only there for a day and then you move on. This is just a fact of how these river cruises are, but you are definitely drinking out of a travel firehose. To that note, we did tour and visit five countries in a week! In fact, on one fun bike ride, we rode from Switzerland to France to Germany and back to Switzerland in about an hour. The staff quickly become your friends. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. The communication from the Cruise Director about itinerary/schedule was well coordinated -- we always felt like we were well informed about schedule, etc. There are plenty of selections for every meal. The food presentations were absolutely gorgeous.

Rhine Cruise

Pros: Excellent service, friendly and professional staff. Nice staterooms and top deck with pool.

Cons: Although the menu was very exciting, the food itself was under spiced and bland. The portion sizes were extremely small and food availability was very limited. The late night snacks were very bad. The tours were average at best and the time spent in Strasberg and Heidelberg was too short.

Recommended: No

We enjoyed the cruise but I would not consider it 5 star quality. It may be that a 7 day cruise is just not enough time to really enjoy the Rhine offerings. We often felt rushed.

Great Experience

We had a great time on our Rhine River trip in October 2021. This was our first experience on a small river cruise and we were very impressed. The entire staff on the ship went out of their way to make our trip the best it could be. Our cruise manager, Crystal August, was fabulous! She made all the arrangements for every aspect of our trip and everything went perfectly! Boda and Vlad served us at our dining table and were fun and extremely capable. All excursions were well-planned and fun.

This trip exceeded expectations. We loved everything about it and highly recommend. The ship was immaculate. The service was beyond compare and the excursion guides were phenomenal. We met really nice people and made some lifelong friends. We'll definitely travel with Ama again.
